“Hero Central”-Vacation Bible School

August 6-10, 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Grace United Methodist Church, 374 Broadway, Lynn

We have an exciting VBS this year – “Hero Central”!
Children ages 3 – 12 will experience God’s amazing love, explore God’s mission in their lives, and seek and learn ways to be God’s Heroes by following a call to action.

This is a free program that will run from Sunday, August 6th through Thursday, August 10th from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. At VBS, children will learn bible verses, sing contemporary biblical music, create crafts, play games, watch and participate in skits, and discover science activities and make new friends. A free dinner is also provided.

We are also looking for volunteers to assist before and during our VBS. If you can cut, paint, glue or sew, have some creative ideas, can set up or tear down, we need you. If you would like to assist in music, science, crafts, registration or kitchen, we need you too. If you are a closet actor or actress, our bible storyteller could use your talents – no memorizing needed. We need prayer volunteers too!

We are excited to welcome all “Heroes” to a wonderful, spirit-filled week! Flame the Red Panda and Captain Shield can’t wait to meet you!

There is no cost to participate in this program. To be part of the excitement at Surf Shack, please call Laurie Hezekiah-Cox at 781-726-0440 or visit the website:

250 Beds for 250 Kids

Last year the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless gave 360 new twin beds to students in Lynn who did not have a bed of their own as part of A Bed for Every Child Initiative.  I am inviting the Lynn Churches to participate in the 250 Beds for 250 Kids by Christmas Campaign.   I hope that many of our Churches will participate, since so many children in Lynn have benefitted from this program.  Here is the link to a YouTube Video: https://youtu.be/udbJivbMr2A

We went way beyond the 250 Beds for 250 Kids by Christmas, and are now in the 300’s.  The Coalition tries to raise funds to distribute 1500 beds a year, so this is on-going.  Each bed costs $250.
