How Harm Reduction differs from other models of addressing Substance Use Disorder

Specific Harm Reduction techniques and the skills needed to implement them

Unique challenges and support needs of staff practicing Harm Reduction with the individuals they serve

Presenting will be Donna White, PhD, RN, CS, CADAC, trainer and consultant.  Donna’s teaching is informed by her significant experience as a nurse and clinician working in the field of addiction treatment and by her academic training and research. She is the Chairperson of the Massachusetts Nurses Association Addictions Council and has served as Addiction Specialist at the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital and Chief Operating Officer and Nurse Executive of Worcester State Hospital. Donna is also a Fellow with the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress.

Social Work, Nursing, LADC, and EMS continuing education credits being pursued.  Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) continuing education credits are approved by the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners.   We will not be able to offer CEUs to those who received them when the training was offered in February, because it is the same training in the same year.
