Still Small Theatre is holding auditions soon for our repertory shows! We are a touring Christian theatre troupe based in Beverly MA, and two of our plays are available year-round. In order to keep the schedule flexible for our actors, we cast several actors in each role, so that so we can mix and match based on who is available for a given show. All are welcome, regardless of experience level (minimum age is 16). We are especially seeking actors of African, Asian, Latino, Native American, Pacific Islander, and mixed-race descent. The Diary of Perpetua is a 90-minute musical based on the story of an early Christian martyr; her prison diary is one of the first female-authored documents known to history. How I Met Our Father is a comedy based on people’s true stories of coming to faith in Jesus. Both shows are performed with 6 actors who all play multiple characters. Each show will have a week-long intensive rehearsal process (weeknights + a day-long Saturday rehearsal) in January so new cast members can get up to speed before joining the full cast at our monthly brush-up rehearsals. You may audition for one or both shows at these auditions; auditions for The Diary of Perpetua will include a singing audition. Sides for both shows will be sent out ahead of time to auditioners, and auditions will also include some theatre exercises.
